TLDR : Answer Summary
The DTV visa, received via email, serves as your entry document to Thailand. Upon arrival, you should present either a printed version or digital copy of the visa email to immigration officials who will stamp it into your passport for a duration of 180 days. It's advisable to keep multiple copies, as you may need to show it to airlines or immigration multiple times. While some individuals have successfully used their phones to display the visa, having a printed copy for security reasons is recommended. For additional verification, visiting a consulate or embassy to have the visa printed in your passport might facilitate processes like opening a bank account.

Did you bother even reading the email they sent you? 🤦‍♂️

Yes, BUT if you are close to a consulate or embassy, it might be worthwhile to go in and have them print the visa in your passport, because at immigration you will only be stamped for 180 days, it will not show the full visa (i.e. it will not show that it is for 5 years). Plus it will help enormously with opening a bank account if the bank sees a long term visa printed in your passport instead of a piece of paper.

Make several copies of the email you received with the DTV visa. You will show it to airlines and Thai Immigration Officers for the next 5 years.

First message you need to acknowledge to access the e-visa website 🙃

I just kept it on my phone, created a folder of documents including the evidence just in case it ever comes up and I didn't have internet. Showed the visa pdf on my phone to the officer and all good.

Frankly NOT 🚫 a Wise Decision. PRINT OUT the email and show it to airlines on flight ✈️ check-in and Thai Immigration Officers upon arrival into Thailand.

No issues so far, but thanks for the warning!

Print the PDF for security purposes, don't just rely on technology that can have several things happen to it.

You don’t even need to print it. I’ve just handed my phone with the email to the immigration person

That PDF they emailed you in the approval email IS your visa, so print it out fold it up and put it in your passport

Hand it and your passport to the officer when you stamp in to thailand and they'll stamp you in for 180 days

Print it and show it, no need to stick it on your passport.

No, they won't do anything to your passport in relation with the visa. The PDF file itself is the visa.
