Here's a question... If I start my retirement visa process in Chiang Mai, does that mean that I have to do my 90 day signing in, in Chiang Mai?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires whether starting their retirement visa process in Chiang Mai obligates them to complete their 90-day check-in there. Responses indicate that the 90-day reporting is tied to your physical presence at an address in Thailand, not necessarily where your visa application is submitted.

And time to close it down, I guess it becomes time to close this complete page down. All foreigners are leaving due to the ever changing visa rules, as soon an advice is typed the rules changed. We just wast our times, pack your bags and leave as soon as possible if you need some more time make sure your visa still allows you to pack in a slower paste. I could not find ever changing visa rules, I found a few changes in the last 20 years and I can understand rules get updated and enforced more or less depending on abuse. But I will turn off the lights at the airport as last foreigner leaving this country.

then how come my extension of stay is from Chonburi but I do my 90 report at Changwattana ๐Ÿค”

his 90 day report has nothing to do with where he gets his visa or extension of stay.

No? and where does he than need to go for his 90 day reporting or starting the visa process?

What do you like to call a retirement visa process? That you are physically 90 days inside Thailand has not much to do with your visa applications. If you are 90 days inside Thailand you report this at the Immigration office that serves your address.

CM immigration is not crazy like it used to be. If you carefully download, copy and fill out the forms, you'll be fine. I have a Retirement Visa and my experience has been that when you renew or acquire your visa is not related to your 90 day check-in. The 90-day check-in is only connected to either when you last arrived into the country or when you last checked in...that was confusing to me at first because I thought that the 90 days began with the new visa. It doesn't. As far as WHERE you check in, not definitively sure about that, but I'm pretty sure it has to do with where your TM-30 says you're living. These strict rules are part of the reason so many have left Thailand.

And might I add...IF one uses an AGENT to assist with the retirement visa BEWARE of where that agent obtained it for you. If you do not live in that Immigration Office area, it could pose a problem in your future.

normally yes, but if you moved and changed your address to a new region and Immigration Office after you got the visa it will be the new office

ok, I think you've awnsered my question... You're saying that the immigration office that grants me the visa is the one where I have to do my 90 days reporting in?
