I have been in Thailand for two years on a language school visa. I am thinking of getting a DTV visa next month.
Has anyone with a history of a language school visa applied for a DTV VISA?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The possibility of transitioning from a language school visa (ED visa) to a DTV visa in Thailand is affirmed by multiple individuals. Before applying for the DTV visa, it is essential to cancel your ED visa at the immigration office where it was issued. Note that your stay in Thailand officially concludes upon canceling the ED visa, which may incur overstay fees if not addressed timely. Experiences shared indicate that the switch to a DTV visa is straightforward as many others have successfully done this, with no complications reported regarding prior ED visa statuses.
yes. no problem at all with the DTV process. application, entering the country, extending. previous ED is never a problem. just leave thailand and it the ED will be canceled anyway and then apply for the DTV.
I've been in Thailand for 7yrs, I had 2 years consecutive student visa and canceled it before leaving Thailand. Applied in Taipei in March 13 and got interviewed today, March 17 and got an approved email 4.5hrs after my interview ✅
It's completely fine. You just need to cancel ur ED visa first (at the same immigration office u got that visa from) before leaving Thailand to apply DTV. Keep this in mind also, ur stay terminates the same day u cancel the visa so you will have to pay overstay fees of 500 bahts per day until you leave Thailand.
