TLDR : Answer Summary
If you enter Thailand on a Single Entry Tourist Visa (SETV), you can extend it for an additional 60 days by applying for an Extension of Stay based on family visit if you are married to a Thai national. This extension can typically be applied for on each new entry with a Visa Exempt Entry or new Tourist Visa. However, some immigration officers may only allow this extension once if you hold a valid one-year visa.

It is called an Extension of Stay to visit family members and will give you 60 days of stay. You can apply for this on each new entry with Visa Exempt Entry or new Tourist Visa. Some Immigration Officers allow this Extension of Stay only once if you have a valid 1 year visa.

That great as I prefer to have 60 day extension then apply for a Cat 0 visa and then 12 month extension. Thanks for your help - much appreciated.

Isn't this a once in a lifetime extension only?

You'd need the following:

1. Her ID card

2. The marriage certificates

3. Your passport (of course).

4. Her house papers.

They only do the ME Non-O based on marriage in Savannakhet, and not Vientiane.

Benjamin. What do I need to show for that. It seems a better option. Also I live in Chiang Rai so crossing over to Burma at Mai Sai and returning - us that acceptable.

You can get a Non-O Multiple Entry over at Savannakhet, Laos that'll last for a year. You will have to do a border bounce every 90 days though.

I could not get one in Sweden - only in home country Australia. It is my intention to extend the SETV by 60 days if possible and then go to Mae Sai and get the Cat 0. If it's only 30 days I'll obviously go to Mae Sai sooner.
Benjamin ******
I don't think so. I think the maximum is 30 days. See
