Good morning! I have the following question: If someone has a valid SETV in passport, is it possible when entering to Thailand to ask officials not to stamp 60 day stay to passport but 30 day stamp based on VISA exemption, then leave the country within that 30 days, come back and then use the SETV while it's still valid?

TLDR : Answer Summary
When entering Thailand with a valid SETV (Single Entry Tourist Visa), travelers generally cannot request a 30-day visa exemption stamp. Immigration officers typically will not stamp in for a 30-day exemption if there is an unused tourist visa present. While it is possible to ask for the 30-day exemption stamp, success largely depends on the discretion of the immigration officer at the time.

As a rule the immigration officers at passport control will NOT stamp you in for a 30 day visa exempt IF you have a valid and unused tourist visa in your passport.

All you can do is ask when you stamp in. No one on this group is gonna tell you with any certainty if it'll work or not. ;) It's gonna come down to the mood of the person you're standing in front of when you stamp in.

Good Luck :)

It's possible, but there's a chance they don't do it. But it never hurts to ask.

I personally have NEVER heard of someone with a valid unused tourist visa in their passport getting the officer to stamp them in on a 30 day visa exempt entry :(
