TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is inquiring about the possibility of extending their SETV (Single Entry Tourist Visa) for 60 days, mentioning their marriage to a Thai citizen and having a child together. Community comments advise that extensions are possible but recommend visiting the local immigration office to confirm specific requirements, which can vary by location. They emphasize the importance of having documentation proving the marriage and parental status and suggest contacting the immigration office promptly due to the impending expiration of the visa.

Your profile says Chonburi, so if you're using the Jomtien immigration office go over there and get the requirements OR show up there with your wife/child with every document you have on them and hope for the best.

any reason you didn't go for an extension BEFORE the new years holiday started and the immigration office is closed until the 2nd?

Most offices let you apply for an extension when you have 30 days or less left on your current stamp.

You should contact the immigration office Thursday the 2nd, find out what they require and then get those documents together so you can apply Friday the 3rd. I mean your current stamp expires monday the 6th. You're cutting it REALLY close..

You will basically need documents to prove your marriage and being a parent to your son, and probably also a confirmation of marriage from your wife and an invitation to stay at your wife's house together with signed copies of her passport and ID-card.

yes, you can. Not every Immigration has exact the same list of requirements and as there are over 70 different offices, best option is to visit yours and ask.
