I have a question re 60 day tourist visa extension please: I believe that if invited to stay with a friend or family, a 60 day extension may be possible rather than 30. Is this correct, and if so what do we need to show? (My partner is thai, he has a house book with his name in but currently only has access to a photocopy) tia

TLDR : Answer Summary
The possibility of obtaining a 60-day extension on a tourist visa when invited by a Thai citizen depends on the nature of the relationship. If legally married, a 60-day extension may be possible. However, if the relationship is informal (e.g., boyfriend/girlfriend), only a 30-day extension is typically granted. Documentation, like a house book or proof of the relationship, may be required during the application process.

ok thanks for your answer 🙂 in terms of 30 day extension, could I stay with him and file a tm30 using house book rather than use a hotel?

The housemaster should be able to file your TM30. It doesn't have to be a hotel. Have them talk with the local immigration office.

ask Thai immigration.

I guess you write about the 60 day Extension of Stay based on visiting family. This raise the question what is your partner, if he is your husband then yes, if he is a boyfriend then no.

if you are not married, then you can not get a 60 day extension of stay based on visiting Thai family
