TLDR : Answer Summary
The likelihood of being denied re-entry to Thailand with a DTV (Digital Nomad) visa after an extended period abroad is considered very low. Although entry is ultimately up to the discretion of the immigration officer, experiences shared by others indicate that DTV visa holders have not faced denial simply for traveling out of the country. However, it is advisable to carry relevant documents, like proof of funds, because sometimes individuals may be questioned upon re-entry.

Not heard of a single case of a denied entry for a DTV holder. It is of course up to an individual immigration officer but highly unlikely.

@Kevin *****
I’m an information guy. I do research. I work at immigration and as said I’ve never heard of a single instance of a DTV entrant being refused. I can’t say it’s never happened as it’s up to an individual immigration officer.

But can an IO deny entry without a legit/legal reason?
Stuart *********
Anonymous participant 643 Sure. It’s up to them. If they think you are abusing the entry rules they can deny entry. Would rarely happen for a legit visa. But it could.

@Stuart ********
so we can't question them or talk to their supervisor? Like if they deny entry for no reason at all?
Stuart *********
Anonymous participant 643 Good luck trying.
Neale *********
Highly unlikely as that's the whole point of the DTV visa
Andi ***********
Very unlikely, it has never happened to me and i have been doing similar for the past year.

Yes of course, a visa is not a guarantee of entry. But simply being out of the country for some time is not going to be a reason to do so
