Hello! Spouse visa question.
We just went to get Kor Ror.22 done and the office said they would have to keep the orignal of our translated and certified marriage cert (with all the embassy and MFA stamp).
Just wanted to make sure that we can use copies of these documents to apply for the visa instead of the original?
Thank you! ☺️
TLDR : Answer Summary
The original of your certified and translated marriage certificate may need to be kept by the office for your Kor Ror.22 process. It is a common concern whether copies can be used for visa applications instead of the original documents. Conversations among expats suggest that some have successfully used color copies of their marriage certificates for their NON-O visa applications. It's advisable to check with the visa processing authority, as policies may vary. Some have obtained certified copies from district offices as an alternative, while others were able to secure their original documents after a negotiation process.
