Do original documents need to be sighted when applying for a dependant visa? (I'm unsure at this stage if I will apply in Thailand or at an embassy / consulate)
I've only got a *certified copy* (by a police officer) of my marriage certificate.
What's required / sufficient?
* Sighting the original marriage certificate
* Sighting my certified copy
* Submitting a signed copy of my certified copy
TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a dependant visa in Thailand, the requirements regarding document submission can vary. It's essential to check the specific requirements on the website of the Thai Embassy where you plan to apply. Generally, original documents need to be sighted, but some embassies accept certified copies. It's also noted that you should never sign original documents; only copies should be signed before submission.
