Can we apply for visa applications for our kids while traveling to Jakarta this weekend for our business visas?

Suggestions in our case welcome:

My family and I want to travel to Taipei next weekend for our DTV (business owners and kids dependants).

Taipei tickets are so expensive right now and lots of night flights, so we are thinking about going to Jakarta.

Both adults can apply as business owners at the same time. Kids can then apply as dependants.

Do we have enough time if we arrive Sunday and leave next Saturday? Probably not with the kid’s applications, right?

I’m not really comfortable with the kids overstaying. So not applying for them is probably not an option.

Do we pick a crappy expensive flight but quick visa application or try our luck in Jakarta? (6 months bank statement and 1 month of 500k ok?)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster is exploring options for traveling to either Taipei or Jakarta for business visa applications for themselves and dependent visas for their children. They express concern over time constraints and the potential for their kids to overstay their visas. Comments from the community suggest that applying in Jakarta might be more efficient, allowing for concurrent applications for dependents, with potential turnaround times of just three days. There are recommendations to arrive early at the embassy due to increased traffic and suggestions to consider applying in their home country for better efficiency.

If you apply in person on 15th Oct (Tue), you will know the outcome on Friday, thus able to fly out from Jakarta on Saturday.

Why not go to your homecountry, where they are used to see the kind of documents, you will use to support the application.

too far away. We are currently travelling through Asia. They also take too long for the application since it is e-visa. So we would be stuck in rainy Europe for about 2 weeks.

Anonieme deelnemer 10 mins and no money with ChatGPT. But thanks for your concerns, I’ll manage in an Asian embassy, don’t worry.

Is it better to have your application rejected because of the supporting documents, and loose the 10.000 Baht fee.

why would the documents be an issue? I have everything I need with translations in Thai and English.

In Jakarta you can apply for dependents at the same time you submit your own applications. If you submit Monday, you get them back Thursday. But note the Jakarta Embassy is much busier than before - I suggest getting there early to get in the queue. I was there at 8:40 on Monday, was 22nd in line and was seen at 10:20. There was a long line waiting outside when I left.

I submitted my application and my son's at the same time, with a separate form and birth certificate for him. You can download the form from the Embassy website (needs to be the form from the Embassy in Jakarta), which saves a lot of time.

oh that would be great! I thought you needed to get the main DTV first to apply as dependants. That makes Jakarta a good option for us!

Anonymous participant bear in mind that Monday 14th is a Thai holiday so all Thai consulates will be closed.

Good luck.

From what I e been reading in here Jakarta is very easy and only 3 days

Maybe some people can confirm

I’m trying to figure out which of the two to go very soon myself and everyone says those two places are the best. Only think Taipei is better bc alittle quicker is what I’ve been reading
