We are a family of three from NZ, we have two businesses there that we own and can run them remotely.
Currently in Thailand (dont wanna go home) and ideally would like to apply in SE Asia as the NZ embassy charges 42,000 baht per person!
Plus we would need to all get back there too which would cost a similar figure each.
Has anyone applied as a family with dependents / spouse and what financials did they ask you , as we do not keep 1.5 million baht liquid but can show regular income well above requirements?
Via business profit and loss and similar.
Interested to hear others experience in similar situations.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A New Zealand family currently residing in Thailand is seeking advice on applying for a visa as a family with dependents without the required liquid funds. They are considering options to apply from Southeast Asia instead of New Zealand due to high costs. Comments suggest applying from a neighboring country may be favorable, but warn of potential rejection without proving funds in a personal account.
The best bet currently would be to travel to neighbouring country and apply. But you are probably going to be rejected if you can’t show funds in the account for each person. And the account needs to have full name etc for the account to be shown as yours.
The alternative is pay an agent which would be even more expensive.
thanks, thats what we are thinking. But at 10,000 each plus an agent fee it will be way less than the 42,000 each in NZ, let alone the flights. Really do not want to liquidate 1.5mill of assets
Anonymous participant it’s going to get worse as well. There is already talk about it having to of been in the account a certain amount of time to stop people being “sponsored” the money to get approval.
