What do I need to know about applying for a DTV visa in Taipei or HCMC, including application forms and fees for my family?

ORIGINAL POSTER
I’m applying for DTV in Taipei or HCMC end of October/early Novemebr.

I have cover letter, letter from employer, bank accts with necessary money + highlighted direct deposits into my bank acct from my employer, USA drivers license, house rental contract in Thailand, and USA passport, birth certificates for all 4 kids and marriage certificate for my wife.

I’m coming off a 1 year work permit here in Thailand. Been living here for 2 years.

3 questions

Where is a printable DTV visa form? (All I can find online is E visa form)

Do I need a form for each of my kids and wife for their follower on my DTV? Or do I just give embassy their passports with my application?

Do I pay 10,000baht for each of my family members too?

Any recommendation on HCMC vs Taipei?

Thanks in advance. I’ll let you know how it went.

Four separate applications, so four fees. Also, it sounds like you will need to necessary money in bank account for both you and your wife (1million baht) but not for children.

You need to go to taipei or jakarta because HCMC and Hanoi will be on the eVisa online system by then and there's no telling what the processing time will be

Pay attention to the consulate you're going to, NONE of the consulates you mentioned charge in Baht for the visa HCMC/Hanoi charge 340 USD (in pristine notes) for each DTV and Taipei charges 11,000 TWD

You need an application for for EVERYONE and EVERYONE pays the cost of the DTV

Right now Jakarta Indonesia and Taipei Taiwan are the consulates that people seem to have the least trouble with (HCMC too but once it goes eVisa online it's anyone's guess how it will be)

- very much appreciate the assistance you are providing here. I was planning to go to Phnom Penh on October 17th (the day my current retirement visa expires), but see they are moving to evisa so that's no good.

I hope you don't mind my asking, but is Taipei suitable for someone who has no activity in Taiwan at all? I can just fly there for a short break and apply, even though I would have no local address?

I sure wouldn't be a 'day counter' and milk what ever stamp you have for another 45 days just because you wanna wring out the longest stay you can on it 🙁 Given how fast things are changing DTV visa wise I'd say get your act together and go apply as soon as you can
