Hi all, asking this question on behalf of a visiting friend holding a multiple re-entry tourist visa. His first entry will expire in a week time. Can he get it stamped at Chaeng Wattana or he has to do a visa run by getting out and back in? And if he can get it done at Chaeng Wattana, does he have to go himself in person or can hand his passport to others? Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired whether their friend, holding a multiple re-entry tourist visa, can get an extension stamped at Chaeng Wattana or if a visa run is necessary. Responses clarified that the friend can extend the visa by 30 days at the immigration office for 1900 THB but must be present in person for the extension, as they take a digital picture. An alternative option is to perform a visa run to another country to receive a new entry stamp.

He can extend by 30 days at the immigration office for 1900baht

OR

He can border bounce <- go to the border, stamp out of thailand, stamp in&out of another country and stamp right back into thailand to get another 60 day stamp.

He can do it at Immigration but they make a digital picture. So he has to do it in person. Every entry can be extended once with 30 days. Advice is to make a border run just before or on the last until valid or enter before date on the visa to get the maximum of 270 days stay out of this visa.
