Hi - I was once married to a Thai man so my daughter is entitled to a Thai passport/residency and intends to live there. I would like to join her long term and wondered if there is a possibility of her sponsoring me as is possible in other countries?? I understand things are more difficult than they were 30 years ago π€ͺ thanks
TLDR : Answer Summary
An expat inquired about the possibility of being sponsored by her Thai daughter for long-term residency in Thailand, noting that her daughter is entitled to a Thai passport as a result of her Thai father. Several responses highlighted the importance of the daughter's age, indicating that if she is over 20, it may be difficult for her to sponsor her parent unless she fits specific criteria. Options discussed included applying for a Non O visa or considering a retirement visa if the expat is over 50. There was also a query about cohabitation requirements with the daughter, which remains to be clarified with local immigration authorities.
