I would like to join her long term and wondered if there is a possibility of her sponsoring me as is possible in other countries?? I understand things are more difficult than they were 30 years ago 🤪 thanks

Now if on the chance you ARE over 50 there are actually TWO types of visa/extension options available to you.
One would be a visa/extension based on 'retirement' (being over 50) and you would meet the financial requirements of that visa/extension.
OR
another option would be to come here and be taken care of by your adult half-thai child (over 20 y/o). That requires you to be over 50 BUT does not require any proof of funds for the extension of stay. You do need to live with your thai child though.

, that is s question you and your daughter need to go ask the immigration office. Given the fact that thai families live in adjoining housing it MIGHT work, OR they might want you to be at the same address.Clare **********

Unless you're over 50, there's no long term visa solution for you based on having a half thai adult child (one over 20)..

, you would have to FIND a job, have the company get you the paperwork, the work permit and then go to a thai consulate and get the B visa. That has nothing to do with the fact you have a half-thai child though.Clare **********

What age is your son? I think there's a cutoff point for the child age when you can't use a Non-O anymore (20 years of age, I think?).
