I am from Australia and I believe I have ticked all the boxes to qualify for a retirement Visa. My 12 year old Australian daughter is with me.

When I last applied for a 30 day visa extension my daughter was automatically granted the extension because she is under 15

Her passport was not stamped because of her age

If I am granted a retirement visa will my daughter also fall under the umbrella of the visa or is the situation more complex than I am hoping

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires whether their daughter, who is 12 years old, will automatically receive a visa if they are granted a retirement visa in Thailand. They mention that their daughter was granted a 30-day visa extension due to her age. Comments clarify that while children under 15 do not face penalties for overstays and were not initially stamped for visa extensions, they must still obtain a separate visa for the daughter or continue overstaying without penalties.

Does your daughter go to school here? I believe she can get a visa based on that. Correct me if I'm wrong ๐Ÿ˜Š

totally correct (y)

They could indeed get an ED visa to attend a school in thailand.

Sadly they cannot apply for an ED visa while on overstay though, so they would have to come in on a clean entry stamp and then start the process,

BUT

there should be no issue with that

Your daughter was not "automatically granted an extension" ๐Ÿ˜ฎ They just didn't give her one, because children under 15 are not fined for overstay and children under 18 are not banned for overstay. She just overstayed, and when she left the country they put an overstay stamp in her passport but didn't fine her

Nope, she won't get anything, you either get a visa for her or you just let her overstay like before. There is no financial penalty for it until she turns 15, and no banning until she is 18.
