Can my son extend his student visa in Thailand until May 1 after a trip to Malaysia?

My son arrived in January on student visa and school ended April 6. He traveled to Malaysia in March. He said he must leave Monday which is 30 days from return from Malaysia.

Is there anyway he can obtain a visa till May 1 which is when he wants to leave?

The immigration site is not clear to me.

You don't mention his nationality

but

most people here on free 30 day entry stamps can get one 30 day extension on that at the immigration office for 1900baht.

Get him to the immigration office tomorrow to get the 30 day extension 🙂

in addition, depending on where he's staying and the immigration office he's using he might need to ensure a TM30 was filed by the landlord to get his extension.

He can and he needs to show up at the immigration office tomorrow where ever he's staying and apply for the 30 day extension for 1900baht.

Dunno why he thinks he can't get it but he can.
