My son arrived in January on student visa and school ended April 6. He traveled to Malaysia in March. He said he must leave Monday which is 30 days from return from Malaysia.
Is there anyway he can obtain a visa till May 1 which is when he wants to leave?
The immigration site is not clear to me.
Thank you!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on whether their son can extend his student visa after traveling to Malaysia. Responses indicate that he may be eligible for a 30-day extension at an immigration office for a fee of 1900 baht, particularly if he is an American citizen.
And if your son also is an American citizen as you seems to be based on your FB profile.π He can get another 30 days as an extension at your local immigration without any issues.
in addition, depending on where he's staying and the immigration office he's using he might need to ensure a TM30 was filed by the landlord to get his extension.
