My son is visiting me in Bangkok and wants to extend his stay. He extended it at the Immigration offices in Nonthaburi and after 30 days we took a trip to Malaysia. The visitors visa will expire in 2 weeks’ time. What is his best option. Will they allow him another extension or must he do a border run? Thanks for helping.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Your son can apply for another extension if he hasn't already extended his visa on this new entry after returning from Malaysia. If he was stamped in for a 30-day visa exemption upon arrival, he is eligible to extend that for another 30 days as long as he meets the extension requirements.

When u came back from Malaysia did he get stamped in for 30 days visa exempt? If so then he can extend that for 30 days provided he meets all the requirements.

If he's on a new entry and hasn't gotten on an extension on this entry, he can apply for another one.
