Can My Husband and Son Get Non-O Visas After Being Denied Non-B Visas in Vientiane?

My friends were denied non b visa in Vientiane because it was their second time when they came there. Immigration officer said that they have to go to another country now.

My husband and son need to get non o visas (based on my non b visa which was extended for one year) and it is also their second time when they are going to get non o visas. Is there a chance that we might be denied as well? Or this rule doesn't work for non o visa.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about the potential denial of Non-O visas for her husband and son after their friends were denied Non-B visas on a second application attempt in Vientiane. There are mixed opinions in the comments about whether the same rule would apply and if it's better to apply from a different country.

and we're done. how about having your employer call the thai consulate in Vientiane and ask them if your husband and child can get another 90 day Non-O..

I give up. I do not now how many times i have to explain that the visa your husband and your son are applying for are TOTAL DIFFERENT visa's than your friends where applying for. But go to another country than Laos, there are Thai Consulates in many more countries, see the list

if the Extension of Stay is not approved due to your marriage certificate, you must solve that problem first, then they can go to Laos and apply for a new Non Immigrant O visa based on being your dependent.

yes, of course. We've solved the problem already. We're just not sure where should we go now, because we went to Laos to get their first non immigrant o visas there and maybe we will be denied same as my friends because we're also coming for the second time.

They want people to get in country extensions not single entry non b after single entry non b

They had to get tourist visas because their non b visas were expiring but they didn't have their work permits done by that time. Now they need to get single entry non b first and after that they can get an extension

I didnt know you cant get 2 non b visas from vientiane. I think your friend had wrong paper work or missing work permit copy

All the documents were fine, the officer said that the reason is just in the fact that it's their the second time 🤷‍♀️

But if your husband and your son already have a Non Immigrant O visa, there is no need to visit a Thai Consulate to get another Non Immigrant O visa. They can visit the local Immigration Office and apply for an Extension of Stay based on being your depended and get this Extension of Stay with the same end date you have.

Thank you, I know😔 that's what we did. But at the local immigration office it turned out our marriage certificate didn't have embassy stamp and they couldn't get an extension, so they got tourist visas because previous non o were expiring. And now they need to get non o outside Thailand again.

Two total different visa, different rules regulations and requirements.

Why arent they doing it inside Thailand if you already have your Non B?

My employee said there's no way to convert the tourist visa inside the country😩

we've got problems with our marriage certificate so they had to get tourist visas because their previous non o were expiring and now they need to get non o outside of Thailand again.
