TLDR : Answer Summary
There is officially no limit to the number of 30-day visa exemptions you can use in a year when flying into Thailand; however, it is subject to the discretion of the Immigration Officer. While some users suggest that you could potentially use unlimited exemptions through quick trips, others warn that relying on this method might lead to being denied entry if deemed excessive.

Be prepared to be denied. Strongly suggest you get a correct visa for your stay.

we really do not know specifically what prompts the Immigration Officer to decide to question you. Other than reports from posters like yourself. But its clear the IO are checking closely.

explain that to the Immigration Officer.

you will be on their radar. The good point is you do not extend the free exempt visa 30 days entry.

James Miller I did 2 in 2019, and will be doing 3 in 2020, but if they check, never stayed more than 3 weeks. With big gaps between them.

just be prepared with the usual requirements (20k cash, accommodation details, flight out, etc) and shouldn't be an issue. As others have mentioned it's always at the IO's discretion, but seems like it's the people living in Thailand on back to back to back exemptions and extensions that face the problems.

thanks, no history, usualy 2 visits a year, but next year 3, but January will only be for 3 days, a visa run from India.

sounds like you'll be fine (depending on your history of course). Not sure why such an alarmist statement would be made without knowing any of your circumstances!

why my first entry will be january for 3 days, 2nd entry will be June for 3 weeks, 3rd entry will be August for 3 weeks, and thats it.

Unlimited subject to discretion.

It’s something that you can’t live there on but you can do as many ins and outs especially if they are quick trips.
Robert *******
As many as the Immigration Officer is willing to give you, but it will be one at the time.

Officially no limit ... however, it's up to whoever you end up with at the immigration desk to decide if it's too many. There's no definitive answer.
