Hi can we apply Thai tourist visa while traveling in Japan online ? Looks like complicated, let me explain more. My kids their ED visas will be ended on June 30th, then they travel to Japan with friends for graduation trip, then they will need to be back to Bangkok for staying here 2 months before university starts. So in this case , can they apply online in Japan for tourist visa to come back Bangkok? Thank you very muchππποΏΌ PS: how long their landing visa going to be 15 days now? And then can they ask for extension for 2 months? The group of friends all need to be back. Thank you again π

TLDR : Answer Summary
The question addresses whether children can apply for a Thai tourist visa online while they are traveling in Japan. The consensus from the community is that visa applications must be submitted at a Thai embassy or consulate in Japan, and that typically, only individuals with residency rights in Japan can apply for a Thai visa. Alternatives such as landing visas were discussed, emphasizing procedures based on the travelers' nationality, with insight on extending their stay in Thailand upon their return.
unless any of them hold Chinese or Hong Kong passports or have long term leave to remain in Hong Kong, NONE of them can apply in Hong Kong for Thai visas as Hong Kong is Evisa application only.

I think you need to have residence rights in Japan to apply for a tourist visa for Thailand from there. Check out the Thai embassy in Japan

What do you mean? Everyone entering Thailand on a visa exempt or a tourist visa should have flights out,
accomodation booked and 20k baht in cash when entering Thailand
the boys will go with group of their friends to Japan and come back to Thailand, their university in il will start at end of August, and actually they are still trying to get into Italian universities, so we have no confirmed date to universities, that is why we would like them stay in Thailand and then directly go to universities
so they will go to Japan on say 1st July for let's say 2 weeks. They'll return to Thailand mid July, get stamped in for 30 days which they can extend for a further 30 days which takes them to mid September. So all is good
my goodness only 14 $, woo, thank you so much for your help indeed those will solve our problems, thank you so muchπππ

Dutch, Italian and Korean passports are all eligible for the visa waiver scheme (just getting stamped in without a visa). I think Korean passport holders can also get stamped in for 90 days under a bilateral agreement
in which case neither will get a visa on arrival. They won't get any visa at all. They will enter visa exempt and get stamped in for 30 days which can be extended for a further 30 days at immigration. BTW there's no such thing as a European passport, the passport is specific to the issuing country
Have you thought of checking the Thai Embassy website in Japan.

Yes but your application will be forwarded by the system to the respective Thai embassy in your home country.

If someone is a legal resident (with relevant residence visa) of another country and can prove it with a copy of the alien ID/residence card, then you are correct. But if someone is a tourist in that other country, then the e-visa application gets routed to the Thai embassy of the home country/passport country. The OP stated she is "traveling in Japan" so I assume she is a tourist. Her only choice in this matter is to go to the actual T embassy in Tokyo (actually I'm not even sure if they service non-residents but there's a chance and a phone call is free).
you can't use evisa from a country you're not physically in. As soon as you send them a plane ticket that's not from that country they're going to deny your application.
