hello

Does anyone have

an experience to get childrens ED visas

and guardian visa in

other asian country?

I'm flying to Laos to apply those, and wondering the paper"4"

below is a letter

from their previous school.

Our nationalities are Japanese, but they grew up in

Australia and can get letters only from an Australian school.

Thank you in advance, ka.

NON-IMMIGRANT “ED” VISA

1. A completed and signed Visa Application Form

2. 2 passport-sized photos taken within 6 months

3. A Passport or travel documents (valid for no less than 6 months)

4. An original letter of approval from a concerned government agency such as the Office of the Private Education Commission or the Office of the Basic Education Commission

5. An original letter requesting for visa issuance, signed by the school director or an authorized person with the school seal/stamp (for international schools)

6. An original letter from the school, training institution or company in Thailand

7. In case of internship, an original letter from the university at which the applicant is enrolled.

8. Dependents

Parents of students (under 20 years old) who have enrolled for a full-time long-term educational course in Thailand are eligible to apply for Single-Entry Non-Immigrant “O” visa. Required documents are the same as required documents for Non-Immigrant “ED” visa with an addition of Marriage Certificate and Birth Certificate and a proof of additional 500,000 baht (or equivalent) deposit in a bank account per parent.

A civil partnership certificate is not acceptable. This is not applicable in the case of informal courses, e.g. Thai language or cultural training courses. Dependents are not eligible to work in Thailand.

9. Other documents: as may be requested by Consular officers in addition to the documents above.

* All letters must have the letter head of their respective agency/school/institution/company and be signed by authorized persons.

** All copies of the agency/school/institution/company’s documents must be signed by authorized persons and have respective seals/stamps.

Please note that Consular officers reserve the right to require additional documents, or an interview with the applicant, as deemed necessary, without prior notice

The Royal Thai Embassy reserves the right to deny any visa applications with insufficient documents or if the reasons given are not fully supported. The visa fee is non-refundable.

VISA FEE (Cash only in Thai baht)

2,000 Baht

Are they enrolled in a school here in Thailand? If so is it an international school?

I did it for my kids in Laos but it was in late 2017. No crime record but I just did visas for the kids at that time.

Do ask the school, though. My kids' school was prepared to do my visa also and handled the kids paperwork beautifully with detailed instructions.

Then the school should provide you with all the paperwork needed - signed by the school director etc. a letter from an Australian school won’t work. I’ve done it on KL before but not Laos. The covering letter needs to be addressed to the embassy/consulate that you are intending to visit.
