Good Afternoon,

Just want some advise on my visa/extension. So I am currently on a year extension from my non immigrant b visa. This extension expires on 12th June 2020. I worked at an international school until last week when I told them that I wouldn’t be returning for when the school reopened. I want to fly to my home country and don’t intend on returning. My school has my work permit but they havent cancelled it yet.

I know the amnesty is running until 31st July but I’m not sure what my options are?

My school told me that if I don’t intend on returning to Thailand to work then I don’t need to do anything and just make sure that I fly out of the country before 31st July?

Thanks in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual has a non-immigrant B visa with an extension expiring on June 12, 2020, after recently resigning from an international school. They seek advice on the necessary steps to take, given their plan to leave Thailand and the upcoming amnesty deadline of July 31. A comment advises that the individual should ensure their work permit is canceled and take action regarding their visa extension.

As you stopped working YOU are responsible that YOUR work permit get cancelled on the last day of working and after that you have to cancel the Extension of Stay based on employment stamped in YOUR passport.

Doing nothing is not what you signed for when you applied for the Work Permit and Extension of Stay,

I didn’t choose to stop working, the schools were closed due to covid. The date on my extension is 12 June in my passport. What would you recommend my next step be?

ok thanks. The last day of working is difficult because I have not been at school since the middle of March when the schools closed. My boss just called me last week to ask if I would return to work if they opened in July and I said no as I want to return home. Also once I have completed this process, then will I be under the amnesty as I technically wouldn’t have a valid visa or extension?
