As a newbie, can I get a straight about DTV for Thai language programs? When I googled it, and read the embassies page, it looks like a hard no. But the first few posts that I've seen here mention success stories with DTV for Thai language programs, so which is it?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the Thai Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) and its eligibility for Thai language programs. There seems to be confusion as some users report success in obtaining a DTV for language courses, while others clarify that Thai language classes typically fall under the Education (ED) visa category, not the DTV. Schools like TSL Chiangmai offer cultural classes which may qualify for DTV, yet many participants in language classes are on ED visas, indicating that Thai language is not recognized as a soft power option for the DTV visa.
Thai language classes still seem to be under the Ed visa, which I can see makes sense, but it's kinda too bad in a way, and it would be nice to see it added to the DTV as it's just as cultural as Muay Thai or cooking classes..
I would gladly have paid for a language school for the DTV since I take Thai language classes while here anyway.. I'd personally rather spend my money on language classes, even if I did end up having to keep renewing my classes for the DTV, if it came to that. But I went with the workaction as I do work remotely with a US based platform..
But, yeah, I don't think Thai language can be used for the DTV path.. That would still be under the Ed visa..
When the program first rolled out there were a number of DTV’s issued for Thai language but since then and for well over a year I have not seen a single post where Thai language as a soft power option was used.
