Can I use my bank account for my husband's DTV application?

Dec 29, 2025
I want to apply for my husband to join me on my DTV as a spouse. The country he’d be applying from needs the ฿500,000 to be in the account for a minimum of 3 months. As we want to apply in the next couple of weeks can he use my account with the ฿500,000 in along with a sponsor letter from me? I can’t find a clear answer online

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post seeks clarification on whether a husband can apply for a Dependant DTV visa using his wife's bank account with ฿500,000 for the required period along with a sponsor letter. Comments suggest that the primary applicant's DTV must be approved first and that the husband's application requires supporting documents including the wife's visa information and proof of funds. There may be consulate-specific rules regarding the acceptance of sponsorship letters and bank documentation.

Whether or not you can write a sponsorship letter for him will be consulate specific. Even if they do accept that they might want to see double the money in your account. You need to speak with the consulate he will use

If the bank account is in good standing (regular credits, debits), then there’s no need to season the funds for 3 months (usually, at most embassies/consulates).

That’s not an option. The country he’s applying from has a 3 month rule

Apply for your DTV first after approval your spouse will need all your passport ans visa info also showing your bank savings. This is the dependant DTV.

Yours has to be approved first

Their application will show your passport and visa copy of marriage certificate and proof of your funds, and sponsor letter.

Your spouse and children under 20 can apply for the Dependant DTV, if you have children certified birth certificate must be in their application if that applies - children can not be married to qualify

Cheers. I’ve had mine a few months now. Was just checking in if they needed the funds separately or if I could use the ones in mine so as not to upset interest rates and speed things up

Anonymous participant no they do not under the dependant DTV it follows yours as long as yours is active and in good standing their visa follows yours just the application fee seperate - 90 day report as well like you will have to. 180 days stay 5 years validation.

If you change to a Non-o visa they will also have to apply for the Non-o Dependant visa just incase to cover all basis.
