Do I need to show financial stability for a DTV visa as a spouse in Thailand?

My partner has a DTV and we are getting married in a few months and I was thinking to get a DTV off his as a spouse. Would I need to follow the same rules for the financial part or can I get away with a sponsor letter as my partner will be the one supporting financially whenever we are in Thailand

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation centers around the financial requirements for obtaining a DTV visa in Thailand as a spouse. Users emphasize the importance of demonstrating personal financial stability, with some suggesting that while a sponsor letter from the spouse might be accepted by some embassies, having individual funds is generally required. Additionally, the necessity of being married for a certain period before applying and the variability of requirements across different embassies are highlighted.

Obviously you have to wait until you are married but it's worth checking with the consulate you plan to use to see if you have to be married for a certain amount of time before you can apply. I don't know how consulates treat this but some immigration offices inside Thailand won't give you a marriage visa until you have been married 2 months. As to whether your then husband can provide you with a sponsorship letter it will likely depend on how much money he can show in his bank account

You need your own money on your bank account, some embassies might accept a sponsor letter but perhaps you should mail them first and figure out if that could be an option
