Do I need to show my wife's bank account has 500K for her DTV visa application if I have over 1 million in my account?

Hi all!

New to this group and this whole visa process😂 quick question however!

Im about to apply for a DTV (Muay Thai) visa for myself, and sponsor my wife on a spouse option. Im just wondering, I have a personal bank account under my name exceeding way over 1 million baht, however, my wife’s personal account shows less than 500K baht, as we both only use ‘my’ account for all our expenses.

When applying for her visa, will we need to deposit xx amount into her personal bank account to reach the 500K minimum? Or will the bank account under my name only be sufficient, exceeding the 1 million baht?

I emailed the embassy, but no response, so just trying my luck here.

Many thanks!!😁

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is inquiring about the bank account requirements for applying for a DTV (Muay Thai) visa for themselves and a spouse visa for their wife. They have over 1 million baht in their personal account but less than 500K baht in their wife's account. Comments from the community suggest that having funds in the wife's account increases the chances of approval, but the final decision may depend on the specific embassy's requirements.

Is it a joint account?

In that case would you be able to submit the same account balance for both your application and your wife’s if you are both on the account?

I’m not sure as I thought each person would have to have the 500K in an account only with their name.

You'll write a sponsor letter in her application along with marriage documents. Your balance is sufficient to cover both applications. Which embassy?

actually it only depends on the embassy you're applying at. Some would be ok for you to sponsor her, some want her to have the money sitting in her account for over 3 months, some would be ok cuz you have over 1MB. If I were you, I'd mail/ring the embassy and check out their requirements, that could possibly save u over 10k and a delay
