Hello! I contacted the Vancouver consulate to get some questions answered about the DTV and they were fairly helpful but still didn't quite answer the question: do I need twice the 500k baht for me and my husband or just 500k for one? They said we can apply as a couple and one of us would need to submit a sponsorship letter because our bank is a joint account. Has anyone had to do that letter? Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the financial requirements for applying for a DTV visa (Digital Nomad Visa) in Thailand as a couple. The user is inquiring whether they need to have 500,000 baht each or just once for the application. Responses suggest that while some authorities may accept a joint account for the visa if one partner can show sufficient funds in their name, others require individual accounts with the respective amounts. It's noted that a sponsorship letter may not be necessary in all cases.

I did my application through the Vancouver consulate and they wanted to see 2x 500k. We did have 2 seperate individual bank accounts tho and they did not ask for a sponsorship letter. This was in July 2024.

I guess they accept a bank account with the 500,000 THB equivalent for YOUR DTV, but it needs to be in your sole name. Only then you husband can apply for the DTV spousal visa without needing his own 500,000 THB
