What documentation should I include in my DTV Visa application regarding financial support and freelance work?

Hello everybody,

I am applying for my DTV in Hanoi right now. I am going the soft power route with a cooking class. I have no online income but do have bankstatements that reach the requierments and a sponsorship letter from my parents that will support me with a monthly budget. I also do work in Germany as a freelance socialworker from time to time, but I do that like once a year to save up money for the rest of the year (wouldnt want to show proof for that income, because back then I didn't meet the financial savings requirements if that would be a problem). What is the best way of putting this information into the online application for the DTV Visa? Do I put in my freelance status if I am currently not working and my last pay was months ago? Where do I attatch my sponsorship letter to proof I can financially sustain myself? Any answer would be highly appreciated

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is applying for a DTV Visa in Thailand and seeks advice on how to present their financial situation in the online application. They have a cooking class planned as a part of their soft power route, bank statements that meet the requirements, and a sponsorship letter from their parents. They are unsure whether to include their sporadic freelance income from Germany and where to attach the sponsorship letter in the application. Comments suggest focusing on the sponsorship letter from parents, possibly including their bank statements and proof of relationship, and avoiding mention of any income if they are not currently employed.

the 500k isn't really savings it's emergency money. So if you can show back up income in the form of a sponsorship letter it certainly wouldn't be held against you. The embassy is going to wonder how you're going to support yourself over the next 5 years.

Probably wouldn't hurt to also compose a statement outlining your plans in Thailand over the next 5 years, why cooking is important to you, what you love about Thai culture, blah blah blah blah blah

You may have to upload your parents bank statements to show how they will fund you.

Sounds like you need to get a little bit organized. Since you're doing soft power there is no need to show any income or work. Not only will your parents need to provide you with the sponsorship letter but they will also need to show their bank statement and possibly even proof of relationship ie your birth certificate.

Do you have the 500K and no income, or are your parents both supporting you for the next 5 years and funding you? Regardless, don't tell them you're employed if you're not employed, which you aren't, just show the funding and your parents sponsorship letter.
