Hi there,

I'm in Italy. I've got a valid re-entry permit (Education Visa) at Thai Immigration on my old passport and a blank new Italian passport.

I will be back to Thailand on 7th January. Is it enough to show both passports (old and new) at Immigrations or should I go to Thai consulate in Italy first?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about the process of entering Thailand with a valid re-entry permit in their old passport while holding a blank new passport. Comments from the community confirmed that it is sufficient to present both passports upon arrival in Thailand. Additionally, it was noted that the Thai consulate in Italy cannot transfer the re-entry permit, and the user will need to visit a local immigration office in Thailand for the necessary updates.

The thai consulate in Italy won't move a re-entry permit that you got from the thai immigration office inside the country.

Just show BOTH passports when you fly in

AND remember you're going to have to go to an immigration office and get your extension & re-entry permit stamps transferred to the new passport..
