I am currently on an education visa and want to leave the country for 1 month. On my previous education visa, I was told that I was able to get a re-entry permit for 1 month however with my new education visa, I was told only 2 weeks by the school who signed me up. I've tried googling and looking all over the net but can't seem to find any information regarding this. I'm just wondering if anyone knows anything more about this? Is a 1 month reentry possible?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently holding an education visa and wants to leave Thailand for one month, but is uncertain about the validity of the re-entry permit. They previously received a one-month re-entry with an older education visa but have been informed by their current school that only a two-week re-entry is permitted. Responses suggest that the re-entry permit duration typically aligns with the visa's validity, but there may be complications since the user is enrolled in an online study program, which may not satisfy the in-person attendance requirement for the education visa.

you are an experienced person living in Thailand for several years.

You know how to extend your stays with a multitude of visas, extensions, border/visa runs.

Be thankful you have the Ed Visa to study. Follow your to schools advice.

And now is a good time to plan on getting the correct visa for your long stay plans. Good Luck.

I'm just wondering though is there any specific amount of time that I'm able to leave for?

your school knows better than any of us. They know your local immigration office and their rules pertaining to this. That's the office that's going to look through your passport when you go for your next extension and ask why you're leaving the country for so long when you're supposed to be studying. Generally online study does not qualify for ED visa because you don't need to be in Thailand for that.

Follow the schools advice

You are supposedly studying.

A re-entry permit is valid as long as your existing stamp is good for. But as part of having an ED visa you're required to attend classes in person so there may be questions if you're eligible for your visa if you're outside of the country for so long.
