I have obtained a single entry Ed 90 visa for my daughter. I got it in KL on 23rd September. Do I have to wait before I extend it to a 1 year multiple entry or can I apply next week for example. Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on extending a single-entry Ed 90 visa obtained for their daughter, questioning whether they need to wait a certain period before applying for a year-long multiple-entry extension. Responses indicate that extensions are typically processed when 30 days or less remain on the current stamp, advising that it may not be possible to extend the visa immediately after entry.

If you are going to leave the country BEFORE you apply for the extension you could get a single re-entry permit at the airport when you fly out. That would keep the entry stamp "alive" and you'd be stamped in until the 22 of Dec when you come back. Then you could get the extension once you're back

Tara Magee the visa is canceled when she stamped into the country What is the date she was stamped in until?

As a rule immigration offices do NOT bend that 30 days or less left on your current stamp to issue extensions.

you're out nothing by taking your child, the documents from the school, and the proof you're leaving the country and not going to be back until after the entry stamp expires and seeing if the immigration office will issue the extension early, but I wouldn't hold my breath that they'll do it.

then you can apply for a yearly extension from the 25th of Nov on

NO, you can't get an extension at the airport.

okay, lets try this one more time. That VISA is no good, all it did was get the person stamped in for 90 days.

So now how about finding the entry stamp in the passport and telling me the date they were stamped in until?

you usually apply for an extension of stay when you have 30 days or less left on the 90 day stamp you got when you were stamped in.

thanks Tod. If I need to can I apply before and state my reason. Just as we have a trip to Vietnam planned next week and her 90 Ed visa was used when she re entered from KL. I don't want it to be void after.

as I was unable to get the documents legalised. Now I am asking a different question.

Why did you not follow that advice?

@Robert ******
suggested this in reply before...

If you hold a Non Immigrant B visa and the Work Permit, the visa for your husband and children will be the Non Immigrant O visa as dependent on a foreigner who works inside Thailand. Your company needs to make a letter to support there stay. If you need documents to be notarized/legalized the only option for UK is Miltion Keys as the UK Embassy does not provide that service.
