Can I use a sponsorship letter from my parents for a DTV visa as a freelancer?
Hi everyone! I'm planning to apply for DTV visa soon as a freelancer, and I have ran into a situation with the funds. Specifically, whether sponsorship letters are generally accepted for a freelance DTV, or only for soft power ones? I have contracts, website, Instagram, reviews and other things to prove that I am actually a freelancer, but I have multiple bank accounts where I dont want to move the money too much, and I'd rather use a sponsorship letter from my parents saying that they have the 500k Baht. Is it a thing at all? Thank you!

In addition to the sponsorship letter they will need to show bank statements and possibly proof of relationship.

Hi! Honestly, sponsor letter from parents adds a lot of complexity (their bank statements, IDs, proof of relationship, notarised letter, etc.) — and consulates verify all of it.
If you have the funds across your own accounts, the simpler path is to consolidate into one main account, keep it stable for 1-2 months, and add a short explanation in your cover letter about the consolidation. Self-funded applications usually move faster and have fewer follow-up questions.

I had my money in 2 main accounts and provided statements of those, plus a 3rd one that has a much smaller amount in, but still added to the total which was actually a bit above the 500k. Didn't need to move the money into one. You could try that?

Multiple bank accounts can be used to evidence the 500k. Sponsorship can be used for freelancers, but it is easier to just 'borrow' the money from your parents.

Unless it's a family member, sponsor letters likely will not be accepted.

I used Issa Compass. Super helpful. If you don’t submit something like your passport image correct the embassy can just reject the application. With them you submit you documents, they format and send them to the embassy. If something is wrong they tell you. They have a mobile app and web app for easy submission. They even do a free 15 min consult to make sure you apply for the right visa.
