DTV Workcation Approved - Hanoi! 🎉

Here's my timeline:

March 30: Applied (Remote Worker / Freelance)

April 1: Request for additional documents (bank statements from both my French and Wise accounts)

April 2: Pending Approval

April 9: Approved!

French citizen, freelance developer, applied through the e-Visa portal.

Two tips that I think helped:

I sent a polite follow-up email to consular.han@mfa.go.th asking about the timeline given Songkran holidays were approaching, got approved the next day.

I also messaged their official LINE account (@snz7050f) in Thai. Not sure if it made a difference but another member here did the same and got approved 2 hours later.

I used AI (Claude) to review my application, draft my cover letters, and prepare my follow-up messages, definitely helped avoid mistakes and keep everything professional.

Thank you to this group for all the shared experiences, reading other people's timelines kept me sane during the wait. Good luck to everyone still pending!

question about workcation dtv visa (Embassy The Hague Netherlands)

I am registered as self employed but have 1 client who pays me recurring and has a contract with me. For Occupation, should I choose "freelance" or "business owner"

What should I do for "Accommodation in Thailand"? Can I just do a hotel for 6 days that I haven't booked yet?

I saw mixed opinions here saying that an Airbnb is needed for 1 month.

Does the hotel date need to match with the intended date of arrival / departure?

Can I do "No" for Additional accommodation in Thailand even though the hotel is for a couple of days ?

Anyone applied DTV for Remote worker or Freelance category (Not softpower skill) right after expiration of ED Visa ?? 🤔

I’m actually holding ED visa and has remote job (I know it’s not good).

In case that I will be asked to submit last a few months payslips, I would be suspected that I work remotely with ED visa ….?? 🤔

Do you think I should apply DTV for soft power skill category ?

I couldn’t find anyone asking same question this group in the past. Need your thought thank you 🙂

Currently on a NON-B in Thailand through an employer of record. I would like to change over to DTV, supplying my business owner documents for my entity in Singapore (can’t show freelance income as that would require me to become a freelancer with my own company while I am still in Thailand); has anybody in here been successful just showing Pte Ltd incorporation papers to get approved for DTV? I can also show profit/loss statements etc.

Hello everyone,

I’m a freelance programmer, and I work with a platform called xolo.io to issue invoices. My agreement with them is a partnership agreement.

I’m in Hanoi, trying to get a DTV, and the embassy keeps asking for an official certified business registration of my company.

I don’t have a registered company; I’m a freelancer, like someone working on Fiverr.

I sent them my agreement with xolo and two contracts with clients, but it seems they got confused and think the client contract represents my company.

I’m not sure what to do. Has anyone experienced a similar situation?
