TLDR : Answer Summary
If you are an independent contractor seeking a DTV visa in Thailand, it's advisable not to simply write a letter to yourself regarding your employment. Instead, you should formally state that you are employed by your own company, outline your responsibilities, and confirm that you are authorized to work remotely in Thailand. It is also necessary to provide supporting documents such as your company’s business license, EIN, registration documents, and a separate 500,000 baht in your personal account. Past applicants have had success with employment contracts and letters from their companies confirming their ability to work remotely.

Yes but word it a little differently. Not "pay himself" but write that xyz company employs you, your responsibilities, gets a salary of x amount, and specifically state that you are allowed to with remotely in Thailand.

Provide company business license, EIN, registration docs.

This is separate from the 500,000 baht in your personal bank account requirement. Still need to do this as well. Can not be the business account.

I'm same situation as you. I provided employment contract with my company and letter from company saying I can work remotely. I got my DTV visa early this month.

Generally you have the right idea, also create an employment certificate stating that you are currently employed and authorized to work remotely and specifically in Thailand. They typically want a contract agreement and a certificate of employment. Use the group search tool with keywords to bring up similar instances of what has been useful and which consulate was used.
