Do business owners applying for a DTV in Thailand need to demonstrate regular income from their LLC?

Question about DTV as a business owner

I'm the owner/sole shareholder of limited liability corporation. I don't take a salary from my company.

Even though I can provide all the necessary paperwork and show 500K THB in the bank, I'm concerned that the lack of regular documented income from my company may be an issue because that seems to be a requirement for many other DTVs.

Do they usually ask business owner applicants for proof of income?

I'm planning to apply in Penang, but I'm open to other locations if anyone has recommendations.

Any input would be much appreciated 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post addresses the concerns of a sole shareholder of a limited liability corporation in Thailand who does not take a salary. The author is worried about the requirement to provide proof of income for a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) application. The responses suggest that not having a salary should not be an issue if the business is legitimate and tax-compliant. Some embassies may request personal income tax filings if the LLC does not generate enough income, and providing a letter from the LLC stating the ability to work remotely can also help. Additional documents like contracts and motivation letters for being in Thailand may be useful for the application process.

I have the same situation, I will go to Vietnam HCM in a few days, in my case I will merge in the same pdf the docs Fromm the LLC formation in the LLC (I don't remember the name of the doc) , and maybe some contracts with other companies, letter saying that I can work remotely, a cover about my motivations to be in Thailand, letter, and what else ? 😂

From what I've seen no income from your own LLC shouldn't be a problem, as long as it is a legitimate business, filing taxes. Some embassies might ask for your latest personal income tax filings, when your LLC isn't making enough money to pay you. Other than that, just a letter from the LLC stating that you can work remotely.
