What are the financial requirements for the DTV visa in Thailand, and do they need to be maintained after approval?
Hi! I have a question about the 500,000 THB financial requirement for the DTV visa.
I’m planning to stay in Thailand for only around 2 years, so I’m trying to understand how strict the financial requirement is in practice.
Do you need to maintain the 500k THB balance after the visa has been approved, or is it only required when applying?
For example, if I get my DTV approved and then, after 2–3 months, withdraw or use some of the money, could this cause any issues later? Do immigration officers ever ask for proof of funds again when re-entering Thailand, or only when applying for an extension?
Would love to hear from people who already have a DTV and have done a few re-entries. Thanks! :)

They will ask during renewal/extension. Some get asked for proof of funds (very rarely though), but just keep it handy.

As far as we know, it is only required for the application. However, now matter how small the chance is, there is always a chance an IO could ask to see proof you still have the 500k baht funds available. I wouldn't worry about it too much though.
