Hi, I never have being visa before. So I am coming marriage visa now, but I have to questions, if I put 400 000,00 bht to thai (or my own country?) bank account, I can't spend anything because I have to do make report every 90 days? Sorry I ask stupid questions, but I have to put that money account and I can't use it because that money should be there always when I make 90 days report?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster (OP) is seeking clarity on the financial requirements for a marriage visa in Thailand, specifically whether they can spend the 400,000 THB required to be deposited in a Thai bank account or if it must remain untouched for the entire duration of the visa. Comments reveal a debate over the requirements for foreign women married to Thai nationals especially when applying from abroad. Generally, many commenters state that financial proof is less stringent for females married to Thais, and suggest that once in Thailand, these requirements could be lessened.

So is a document showing a min of 100k deposit per month for life for a marriage visa not accepted. I thought that it was either 400k or a minimum income requirement

I am married to a Thai man and have been living in Thailand for a long time. I have never had to show any income . However last week when I applied for my COE I had to show statement that I had at least $700 in the bank. That’s all.

our Embassy needs 3 months bank statements where money is every month last day. No matter if I have much more day 15. only that matters how much there is months last day.

Tod *********
did you notice the poster is a foreign female?
Tod *********
Okay
@Sa**
, You got some good and some total shit answers on here..

We will go under the premise that you are a foreign FEMALE (seeing as that's what your profile says) :P

As
@J**
correctly stated foreign females marrying thai males do NOT need to have the 400K baht in a bank account (in fact there is no financial requirement at all).

EDITED: It now appears the O/P is indeed a female foreigner BUT she is OUTSIDE of thailand and trying to get a 90 day Non-O visa based on marriage from a thai consulate in the country she is in. Unfortunately she is going to have to meet the requirements they have :(

I am female married with Thai man. Here my home country they said I need for visa bank statements for income or 400 000,00 bht. I am now overseas because covid situation. If RTE needs that incomes or 400 000,00 bht I have to show or I can't get visa. AND they said if that money is not on my bank account every month last day 3 months before I apply visa, I don't get visa. And I have to proof where that money is come from etc...

@Sara ***********
Strange, that just doesn't make sense, BUT you might have put in your post you were a foreign female who is currently OUTSIDE of thailand and applying for permission to get back in.

You're stuck with what ever criteria the embassy wants, what I was saying was INSIDE thailand there is no requirement for you to show proof of funds to get either the 90 day Non-O visa OR the yearly extension based on marriage

Sorry to hear that the embassy you're dealing with is like that

Leave the money in the bank for the year after.

Intrest pays for the renewal costs.

Why take the money out, spend it, and have to put in again the year after....
