TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking clarification on whether they can still use their existing single re-entry permit after applying for a multiple entry permit while extending their Non-O visa. Community members confirm that applying for the new extension will cancel the existing single re-entry permit, and a new re-entry permit will be required that aligns with the new extension.

your extension will start the date you apply for it and exipre a year from your admitted until date.

Unfortunately, re-entry permits are tied to the stamp they were issued under.

even though it is not expired getting a new extension will cancel the current re-entry permit and you'd need a new one that is tied to new extension extension..

You Single Re-Entry is based on your Extension of Stay. If you apply tomorrow for a NEW Extension of Stay the current one will be cancelled and also the Single Re-Entry permit.
