TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently holding a married visa which is nearing expiration and plans to request a two-month Covid extension. They are seeking clarification on whether they can apply for a married visa again after taking the Covid extension. The responses indicate that one cannot simply take the Covid extension, as approval depends on the immigration officer. Additionally, it is advised to consider extending the current marriage visa instead, given the uncertainty surrounding the Covid extension.

The Covid extension is not a promised one. Your application may be approved, may not. Be prepared with Plan B.

You can't simply "take" a Covid extension. You can request one but whether the immigration officer gives you one is entirely up to them. It would be wise to have an alternative strategy.
I tend to agree. Some months back a buddy of mine who used to go every 90 days to Laos to avoid the money, was refused a covid extension and the immigration officer told him the covid extension was for "unable to travel" not "unable to get the money", and told him to get the money in the bank or leave the country, so it's not a "given"

Why would you not extend your marriage visa now? What if the Extension of Stay based on being unable to travel due to Covid (landborders are open) get denied?
What do you mean with a marriage visa?
Is that the Non Immigrant O visa based on being married to a Thai National OR the Extension of Stay based on being married to a Thai National?
That is the same, you can apply for the Extension of Stay based on unable to travel but have a plan B ready to go abroad, apply for a new Non Immigrant O visa and later the Extension of Stay.
