Can I extend my COVID visa in Thailand before January 25 if I have a valid stay until February 27?

Hello, good day to all. I just want to ask if I can still extend my COVID visa before January 25 even if I still have 30 days valid stay in Thailand. My current Covid visa will expire on Feb. 27. I would like to stay longer in Thailand and I got the news that they will not extend further.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about extending their COVID visa before January 25, despite having 30 days left on their valid stay until February 27. Community responses emphasize uncertainty concerning the extension of the COVID-related visa, noting that immigration offices may have different policies regarding how many days before expiration one can apply for an extension. It's advised that the user visit their local immigration office for accurate information.

I'm closing comments:

1. NOBODY knows if the 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19 will be extended or not. It has not been announced yet. We *WILL* Make an announcement if it's been extended.

2. Different immigration offices have different policies about acquiring an extension of stay. Chiang Mai, Bangkok, Buriram, Chiang Rai and a couple of others all allow people to apply for extensions when they have 45 days or less left on their current stamp. The other immigration offices are 30 days. However, ask your local immigration office for specific details.

3. If you have further questions about the 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19, please read

They’re a satellite office from the main Phuket town office so don’t have high ranking officers there. I doubt they’d know jack s***. Probably just scare mongering.

They wouldn't know since news hasn't been released yet.

Sadly (for you) to get that answer you're going to have to slog on over to your immigration office and ask them yourself 🙁

No one on here knows if your office will or won't issue another covid extension when you have more than 30 days left on the current one.

SO to summarize, I see a trip to your immigration ofice in your near future 😉 (before the 25th of Jan)
