TLDR : Answer Summary
A visitor can enter Thailand without a visa for up to 30 days (not 28) if they are from a visa-exempt country. Once in Thailand, it's possible to extend the stay for an additional 30 days at an immigration office for a fee of 1,900 baht. It's advised to check your local embassy's website for official confirmation and ensure to keep records of your visa application and payments.

I waited 20 days then 3 days prior to my flight I contacted my consulate through Facebook messenger, received my evisa on my way to airport. Don't give up on the visa you already paid for.

When did you apply? I applied six days ago today through the DC office and my status currently says pending payment which I don’t understand since I paid at the time that I submitted the visa request. I have a messaged them, but received no response so I will give them until Friday and then I will call them. Hopefully I can get some sort of answer.

You can enter for 30 days without a visa (visa exempt) and then go to an immigration and extend for another 30 days in country. 1900 baht.

Look on your local embassy website for official confirmation

You mean your e-visa hasn't come?

How long ago did you apply? Did you get the confirmation of application and your receipt of payment?

Btw, yes you can get 30 days with just your passport. Then do a 30 day extension.

What embassy did you apply at ??

London - though a German I know went to the Thai Hong Kong embassy and they said you CANT extend.

Though I have a feeling a lot of people don't know what's going on because rules are changing so much

embassies don't know anything about extensions. You should never trust what an embassy says about in-country immigration stuff as they are different agencies and they don't communicate.

Also e-visa takes about 3-4 days from most reports so if you've been waiting longer than that you may have done something wrong and should check the status.

Thanks. Thai Visa or Thai Pass takes 3-4 days?

Weird I was sure I applied and was waiting but can see NO RECORD of it in the

- even though it was listed there before when I picked it up (took several sessions to finish it)

It was about 5-10 days ago. I have no memory of paying - any idea how much it costs I can try to look for the payment

it should say on the London embassy website how much a tourist visa costs

OK I just filled it in again to try to remember - and I think I know.

It NEVER prompts you to pay - after you fill it in it appears you're done - but you have to select it and click 'pay now' LMFAO.

So I did it now on the off chance somebody in the embassy gets it (perhaps they get shown the most urgent ones first) - and will take pity on me before tomorrow...

ta

Still doesn't explain why the original totally vanished from their system

Yes, you can enter for 30 days without a visa.

Depending on your passport country, but for most western countries yes you can. Here’s the stuff you’d need to extend in Phuket. Your local office may differ slightly.
