Hi. I booked a flight to arrive in Thailand for 37 days. Thinking I could get a visa the old way. Now it’s an EVisa and I am struggling with uploading and downloading things on my I pad. I’ve asked travel agents too apply for me but they can’t help.
My question is can I come too Thailand without visa for 30 days and then extend it for 1900 baht.
Or will I be refused at airport for not having visa because of air ticket. I would appreciate help please as my head feels like it’s going too explode with computers. Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you arrive in Thailand without a visa, you are permitted to stay for up to 30 days under the visa-exempt rule. However, it is crucial to have proof of onward travel, as some airlines may require it before boarding your flight. After entering, you can apply for a 30-day extension at immigration for a fee of 1,900 baht. The extension adds to your initial stay, meaning if you arrive on the 1st and extend on the 2nd, your total stay should be 59 days (30 days initial + 30 days extension). Consider having a flexible return ticket and confirming the latest entry requirements, including the possible necessity for a Thai Pass.
To play it safe I would change the return flight date to show you can leave Thailand after 30 days then 2 days before departure go to immigration to get your months extension for 1900 bart then change your return flight to the day you wish to leave. This is why I always by a changeable ticket.Failing that foolproof way keep your fingers crossed and hope for the best
Re. the 30 days visa exempt, if I arrive on Nov 1st like that and go to immig the next day, Nov 2nd, for a 30 day extension will I get stamped unto the end of December, ie 60 days in total, of does the extension start from the moment I get it, ie only until 2nd December?
Your 30days extension should be ADDED to your current stamp total goes 59days 60nights, not starting on the day of application.
Check your passport immediately after you get it back. If your stamp total is shorter than 60nights, you can ask the Immigration officer to get the stamp corrected.
-You DID need to upload proof of onward travel to get a COE approved entering visa exempt at SOME consulates
-You MIGHT need to do the same to get a Thai Pass approved once it starts up
-You MIGHT be asked for proof of onward travel within 30 days to check in to your airline (that is airline specific)
-You will NOT be asked for proof of onward travel when you are stamping in to thailand nor will you be asked for it when you go to get a 30 day extension on a visa exempt entry
if you have an approved Thai Pass you can indeed come into thailand on a visa exempt entry and get a 30 day extension once you're here. You will not be asked for proof of onward travel when you stamp in to the country or when you go to get the 30 day extension BUT you might be asked to upload the proof of onward travel to get the Thai Pass approved and depending on your airline you might need proof of onward travel in the time you'll be stamped in for (30 days) BUT neither of those have anything to do with you getting an extension or getting stamped in to the country.
as the Thailand Pass app isn’t available yet are you sure you’ll need to have an outbound flight or return flight to upload? I’m hoping to come in visa exempt too and then apply for an O visa in Thailand. A short term, onward travel ticket won’t work if you’re correct as they are only good for a few days so I’d have to actually book a ticket out somewhere
Proof of onward traveler easy. If you don’t already have such a thing, You can get temporary but perfectly valid tickets from various websites for a few dollars. Just google onward travel and you will locate them.
yes that’s why I mentioned “onward tickets” the problem would be if uploaded at least 7 days before the flight, the onward travel ticket would not last long enough as they say only good for a few days. Could get another one for the actual departure day but the details would be different!
I changed it to MIGHT need proof of onward travel to get approved by Thai Pass, because you're right no one knows. BUT on the old COE you did need to upload onward travel within 30 days to get approved for visa exempt entry at most consulates
