Can I get a 60 day stamp then go to Cambodia or Nepal for 10 days or so, then get a new 60 day stamp in Thailand? Total 120 days?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, you can theoretically get a 60-day stamp upon entry to Thailand, leave for about 10 days to Cambodia or Nepal, and then return for another 60-day stamp, totaling 120 days. However, reentry is at the discretion of the immigration officer, and your entry history may influence their decision.

Maybe. But soon it will get back to 30 days

Unfortunately you may be right. Thailand Immigration is the stupidest of any country I have been to. They change things so often and usually not for the better.

Disagree!

Don’t you think it’s for the better every time they changed from 30 days to 60?

Yes I do. But they should keep it at 60 days or expand it to 180 days like Mexico. Crack down on those who overstay for long periods. Never let them back in the country. But don't penalize those who come and spend money and do everything according to the law. My wife and I come have been coming for 30 to 90 days for several years. Last year we came for 90 days twice. Once every 180 days. We spend lots of money. We never overstay. We don't work. We do everything legal.

In theory yes, but all entries to Thailand are at the discretion of the immigration officer you hand your passport to.

With no previous extensive history of entries you probably won’t have an issue.

If you have previous entry history then the odds of being asked questions would rise.

I'm curious as to what makes you the "group expert". There seem to be a lot of someone's called "experts" on this site and many, many answers that directly conflict and oppose other answers given by so called experts.

That’s a flag set by the admin of the group. Perhaps it’s because I work at immigration.

I guess that makes you an expert then. 👍👍
