Hi there, from SA, we arrive in May and get stamped in on a 60day visa exempt, after abt 59days,we want to go to Cambodia for abt 3 or 4 days, then come back, will we get stamped in for another 60days? Or has that changed? As I am busy booking our flights from SA&back, dont want to make a mistake. We come over every year, but only do 90days, but thought with the new rule,we can do the 60+60. Thx,would appreciate your help. Carmen

TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster plans to enter Thailand on a 60-day visa exemption and then travel to Cambodia for a short trip before returning to Thailand. They inquire whether they will receive another 60-day entry stamp upon re-entering Thailand, particularly in light of recent rule changes. Responses confirm that they will indeed receive a new 60-day stamp after returning from Cambodia, and they also suggest considering a 30-day extension in Thailand instead of traveling.

You might as well stay a bit longer in Cambodia as it will cost $40 for a one month visa

Unless you WANT to go to Cambodia, why even waste the time bouncing out and back after a couple days?

I mean if all you need is another 30 days, just take the 30 day extension at the immigration office that serves the area where you stay for 1900baht

You are correct though, you will indeed get a new 60 day entry stamp when you come back in to the country. (y)

no Todd, we need another 60 days.Like I said,(we normally only holiday 90days), but

thought now we can do 120days, arrive and get 60, but then need another 60. So will have to go out, somewhere?? Thx

for 120 days (plan your departure flight carefully) you don't need an extension just the border bounce

the airline you will be departing SA with, can ask you for a proof of onward travel out of Thailand within the frist 60 days. Email them and ask how the handle it, if your return flight is outside of 90 days

, you can bounce by air, too. No need to do at land border if you don't prefer.
