Can I extend my 6-month multi-entry visa in Thailand by going to immigration or do I need to exit the country?

I have a 6 months multi entry visa. I arrived October and got 60 day stamp, visited Cambodia in November so got another stamp until 11th January. To get another 60 days do I have to go out and back or can I go to say Patong immigration and they will give me 60 day stamp? I only need 60 more days before I return to UK. Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual has a 6-month multi-entry visa and seeks to know if they can extend their stay by visiting immigration or if they need to exit Thailand for another entry stamp. Comments suggest that a 30-day extension can be obtained at an immigration office for 1,900 baht, but a border run may be necessary to secure an additional 60 days. It's important for the individual to plan carefully, as their visa is valid only for six months from the issue date.

As James stated, extension plus border bounce, or just border bounce, but that might be cutting it close.

You can get a 30 Day extension of stay at Thai immigration office for 1900 Thai baht...

BUT

Will have to leave at its end date...

requiring a BORDER BOUNCE to get stamped in for 60 days.

Choice is yours. .

It may be just one Border Bounce will get you the time you need before you leave Thailand.

VS

Getting the 30 day extension Plus Border Bounce.

Plan your next steps carefully as the METV multiple entry tourist visa you have EXPIRES 6 MONTHS from its DATE ISSUED.
