TLDR : Answer Summary
If you pay an additional fee for a rapid testing turnaround, you can leave the hotel once you receive a negative result. It is important to verify with your hotel regarding their policies, as some may not allow you to return if you check out.
I was in Phuket and it took 5 hrs for results and friends coming into Pattaya’s hotels the results are taking up to 25 hrs. If you do a test before 6 pm it’s quicker
Once you get your negative result, you can leave. Just beware that many hotels will check you out and not let you return if you leave. You will need a different hotel for that night. Ask your hotel their individual policy.
