It would be highly appreciated if any of you would share me the latest information about deposit period for extending visa type O.

.

My best friend is holding visa O to take care of his son study (ED) in Thailand. Unfortunately, he made deposit in his bank account less than 3 months before his visa extension schedule, however, the deposit period is more than 2 months for few days.

.

Will the immigration accept this period of bank letter confirming?

.

What kind of docs can he ask from his son's school to support his visa O (guardian visa) extension for this case?

.

Thanks a lot in advace for information from anyone who was in this same shoes.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The deposit requirement for extending a Visa Type O in Thailand is that if it's the first time applying for a guardian extension, funds must be in the account for at least one month; subsequent extensions require a three-month deposit period. In cases where the deposit period is less than required, it is advisable to visit the immigration office to seek clarification, as interpretations of the rules may vary by location. Additionally, supporting documents from the school may be requested, but specific details on what those documents should be were not provided in the discussion.

If it’s his first time applying for the guardian extension then the funds need to be in the account for one month. Subsequent extensions need 3 months.

If it’s less than that then only thing he can do is go to the immigration office and ask. My guess is the answer will be no, but you lose nothing by asking.

Friends of mine had a balance that went below the 500k for one day, as they mistakenly withdrew cash from the wrong account, but returned it the next day and they were refused an extension. Not all offices will have the same strict interpretations of the rules. That’s why they’ll have to ask theirs.
