I am an American Citizen with a NON-IMM O-A Visa issued from the Los Angeles Thai Consulate on March 21st 2019 with an expiration of March 20th 2020. Is it still possible to enter a day or 2 before it expires and get stamped in for an additional year, then go to immigration in Jomtien and get a multiple-entry permit so I can use if for that second year? All this WITHOUT insurance? Or, is it now the case that the Visa will no longer be valid without insurance as of it's expiration date of March 20th 2020? Thanks!
TLDR : Answer Summary
An American citizen with a NON-IMM O-A Visa is inquiring about entering Thailand shortly before the visa expires to obtain an extension and whether insurance is required for this process. Responses suggest that it may be possible to receive an extension without insurance if the visa was issued before the insurance requirement was enforced. Experiences shared by others indicate that immigration officers may be willing to issue an extension despite the lack of insurance.
