Hello. I first entered Thailand with a tourist visa on March 14th, I got 60 days stamp. Since the end of the visa stamp validity I have been under the amnesty. My question is if the request of extension (under the new rules) should be done during August or I can wait till mid September? I also want to know if I can do the process were I'm staying (Pattaya) or I should go to new visa center in Bangkok. Thanks in advance for your help.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about the timing for requesting a visa extension while under the amnesty in Thailand. Responses indicate that it is better to apply before the amnesty expires, ideally before September 26th, and to check with the local immigration office in Pattaya regarding the possibility of extension.

Ok Thanks. So, I can go anytime before the 26th of September... Right?

That's right, but I recommend going as soon as possible; the extension of stay will be valid starting on September 27

There is some debate on whether you will get your "regular" 30 day extension or not.. Some offices were doing it and some were declining to do it.

IF you're allowed to do it they should date it from the day after amnesty expire (the 27th of Sept)

You use the immigration office in your area, so go to your immigration office and check to see if they'll allow it or not.

IF they don't and you can't find another way to stay you need to "prepare to depart" on or by the 26th of Sept
